Jac kephart Technique, materials and inspiration are the building blocks of Jac Kaphart’s work.. His Abstract paintings incorporate combinations of acrylics, cement, tars, old rusty olive oil cans and metal leafing on board. The materials combine to create creations, not just copy existing creations, it’s the formula of weight and balance, push and pull. It’s not so much the subject, but how you make the materials work that ignites you imagination. For thirty years Jac painted landscape, but there came a day when Jac said he had burned out and realized he could no longer continue to copy nature. He had to create something new with each painting. He then returned to the abstracts he had done in the late 50’s. Jac says he feels reborn as an Artist. Each piece is a One-of-a-kind.
