Jerry Georgeff
“There is very little that is truly new for the modern day impressionist, unless he or she brings to the work a personal sense of involvement, capturing the feeling of the moment and then, in turn, transmitting the moment through image to the viewer.” Jerry Georgeff
Whether it be in the paintings of his beloved Colorado, the sunny fields of poppies from Tuscany or an intimate French Café Scene, Jerry Georgeff is intent upon capturing not only the place, but the mood, the fleeting moment. It is as if you are alongside his easel, taking in the same sights and ambiance as the scene is caught forever in time on his canvas.
Jerry was born in 1948 in the coal fields of West Virginia where his father scratched out a living for the family. Though his beginning was simple and gave no indication that this coal miner’s son would grow up to be an artist.
Jerry was exposed to art for the first time after his family had moved to Dayton, Ohio, when his elementary school took him and his classmates on a day trip to the Dayton Museum of Art. At a young age he would fall in love with the masters of impressionism. This inner love for art world finally surface in his mid-thirties, when he began painting seriously.
Now nearly twenty years later, Jerry’s images are highly sought after by collectors from around the globe.
