Raymond creates his stylish, charming works of art by using the materials of oil painting and combining that with the skills involved in the freehand brushwork of traditional Chinese painting. He creates a theme according to his feelings about life and nature. Raymond’s subjects are the landscapes of China’s Northeast, and his paintings express the boundless spaciousness of nature. Initially Raymond painted primarily in a realistic style, but now expresses his feelings in his paintings in a more abstract form. Raymond was born in a province of Northern China in 1963. He now resides in Beijing, is married, and has a daughter. He makes a trek to the land where he was born annually in order to replenish his spirit in the beautiful mountains. In doing so, Raymond renews his closeness to nature and is better able to incorporate his feelings into his paintings. Human feelings and nature blend together in Raymond’s work. His true emotions come to the forefront in each of his paintings.
